Returning to the University of Wisconsin at the age of forty-five to get her degree, Irene Kampen "Fell into a nest of Hippies," took Posture in Gym class, and had to have a permission slip from her mother to live off campus. Mrs. Kampen tells the amusing story of how she tried to get her degree in Due to Lack of Interest Tomorrow Has Been Canceled. Irene Kampen (photographed above behind her home in Ridgefield, Connecticut) is the author of several books including "Here Comes the Bride, There Goes Mother" and "Life Without George."
